Welcome to The B-List, your weekly round-up of celebrity mess and pop culture. This week: 1989: Taylor’s Version, Kim K’s B-Day, and the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie.
Let’s begin by wishing a very happy birthday to Kim Kardashian, who turned 43 on Saturday. The SKIMS founder was spotted last Friday in Beverly Hills celebrating. She was joined by her famous family and A-listers such as Hailey Bieber and Ivanka Trump. Oh, to be a fly on the wall during that dinner.
And it seems we can’t go a week without talking about Taylor Swift. This Friday is the long-awaited release of 1989: Taylor’s Version. The album will feature five new tracks from the vault in addition to rerecordings of all the album’s original songs.
Another highly anticipated release for Friday is the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. The film stars Josh Hutcherson, who was most known for his role in the Hunger Games movies as Peeta. The movie is 10 years in the making and has a cult following awaiting the release.
And in sports, the Las Vegas Aces beat the New York Liberty 70 to 69 last Wednesday to claim the WNBA championship. On Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens beat the Detroit Lions 38 to 6 and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Miami Dolphins 31 to 17.
If you’re looking for some celeb drama, Britney Spears’ new memoir, The Woman In Me, drops this Tuesday. The book explores her rise to fame, conservatorship, and relationship with Justin Timberlake.
That’s all for The B-List this week. Check in next Monday to hear about what happens this week in pop culture. For WNUR News, I’m Ilse von Heimburg.
