Last weekend was the end of Chicago Restaurant Week, a 17-day event celebrating the city’s vibrant food scene. This year, over 500 restaurants participated – all offering fixed-priced, multiple course menus for brunch, lunch and dinner.
Michelle Zhang, McCormick third-year and avid foodie, went to four places this Restaurant Week.
MICHELLE ZHANG: It’s worth trying, like, the places you want to go but… sometimes the regular menus are more worth it. ‘Cause I know Alla Vita does, like, $30 restaurant week, but if you go look on, like, their site, they have a regular, like, $25 deal. So it’s the same menu, but they just are upcharging.
For next year, Michelle said that she’ll compare both menus to make sure she’s getting her money’s worth.
