Welcome to the B-List, your weekly roundup of celebrity mess and pop culture. This week: a record-breaking night at the VMAs, new movie, a celebrity kid’s runway debut and new music.

At the VMAs, Taylor Swift officially became the most-awarded artist in show history, passing Beyoncé with 31 career wins. Taylor Swift won Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia” and premiered her new “Patient Zero” music video. Madonna also had a huge night, winning seven awards and opening the show alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX.

In movies, “Verity,” starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, hit theaters Friday. The film, adapted from Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, has revived the book’s infamous debate over what really happened.

At Paris Fashion Week, Apple Martin, the 22-year-old daughter of Coldplay’s Chris Martin, made her runway debut for Chloé. Martin walked in a white bohemian dress and sky-high wooden platforms, after previous campaigns for Chloé, Self-Portrait and Gap Studio.

And Victoria Monét is back with “Frequency of Love,” her first album since the Grammy-winning “Jaguar II.” The 22-track project features a stacked guest list, including Bruno Mars, SZA and Chlöe Bailey.

That’s all for the B-List this week. Check in next Monday to hear about what happens this week in pop culture. For WNUR News, I’m Fiona Sun.
