In 2017, Yik Yak, a social media app where people can write anonymous posts to users within a 5-mile radius, was suddenly taken down from app stores worldwide. The app was previously popular among high schools and colleges for its community-based approach and anonymity. But in August of this year, the app suddenly returned to Apple’s app store.
