Northwestern production company Studio 22 just announced its newest grant recipient. The fifteen-hundred dollar award gives students the funds to turn their original screenplays into full-fledged short films.

The latest winner is titled “Jane Street.” The film’s director Avalon Bookstaver says the story centers around wealth and privilege.

AVALON BOOKSTAVER: THE MESSAGE TOUCHES ME AND FEELS IMPORTANT TO ME BECAUSE I THINK THERE’S A LOT OF INSTANCES AT NORTHWESTERN WHERE PEOPLE DON’T REALLY REALIZE THE POWER THAT THEY HAVE.

“Jane Street” is one of the six short films that Studio 22 will finance this year. They will all premiere at a showcase in early June.
